Moeve is present in China with its chemical plant in Shanghai. In operation since 2015, this facility produces cumene, phenol, and acetone, and represented the largest investment from a Spanish company in this Asian country.

Our plant in China is proactive and focuses on continuous improvement, optimizing production and support processes to strengthen competitiveness, efficiency, and quality. This approach allows the facility to increase the added value of each product, always with a firm commitment to sustainability.
Its launch marked Moeve's entry into the Chinese market, the world's largest phenol consumer, and consolidated the company as an international leader in the chemical sector.
The work of its professionals and the design and efficiency of the facilities have been recognized by the World Refining Association, which named it petrochemical plant of the year in the Petrochemicals Awards of Excellence.
In addition, it has been recognized as a Water Saving Company by the Chinese Government, in recognition of its ongoing efforts to conserve this resource and use it efficiently.

Sustainability at the heart of production processes
The plant is ISCC PLUS certified plant as it uses bio-based, biocircular, and circular raw materials in its processes, which allow us to obtain products such as NextPhenol-R. More than half of the electricity consumed by our Shanghai plant is of renewable origin. In addition, it has had a photovoltaic plant for self-supply since 2024.
