Moeve began its operations in North America in 1995 with the commissioning of its chemical plant in Bécancour, Canada. This facility was the first in the world to use Detal® technology, developed jointly by UOP and Moeve, and is considered to be the most innovative, sustainable, and safe LAB production plant worldwide.

With more than 30 years of experience in LAB manufacturing, our Canadian plant stands out for its commitment to sustainability and the decarbonization of its production.
Moeve Chimie Bécancour is the only LAB manufacturer in Canada and the largest supplier in North America, Central America, and the Caribbean with a market share of 28%, which consolidates its position as a key player in these regions.
It was also the first plant in the world to certify its sustainable production through the use of renewable energy under the in-house standard endorsed by AENOR: the Low Carbon certification. This innovative method, developed in-house, is based on international standards such as the UNE-EN-16325 standard on guarantees of origin related to energy and for electricity, ISO-22095 on the chain of custody, and ISO-14064 on verification of the organization's carbon footprint.

Sustainability at the heart of production processes
Thanks to the use of electricity from renewable sources, along with other low-carbon energy sources and renewable raw materials, the plant can manufacture products with a lower carbon footprint such as NextLab-R, NextLab-Low Carbon, and NextLab-R-Low Carbon.
