    AMS

Alpha-methylstyrene (AMS) is a co-product generated during the production of phenol from cumene, which is obtained through the allocating benzene with propylene in a fixed-bed catalyst. Subsequently, the fractionation units separate the AMS from the rest of the products.

Alpha-methylstyrene (AMS) is mainly used in the production of acrylonitrile butadieno styrene (ABS), a thermoplastic known for its high impact resistance. Thanks to this property, its applications extend to various industries that require durable plastics, including the production of coatings and products for the cosmetics industry.
