This is the first chemical plant on the Iberian Peninsula to produce pioneering isopropyl alcohol (IPA): the base product for disinfectant gels used by the medical and pharmaceutical industry, among other applications.

Applications of isopropyl alcohol
IPA is a product with high disinfectant properties that, among other applications, is used as a base for hydroalcoholic gels. Its disinfecting power, fast evaporation, and ease of application make it ideal for cleaning all types of surfaces without using water. That is why it is widely used in the medical, pharmaceutical, computer, and automotive industries.

Its commissioning strengthens the supply of this product in Europe, where it is widely used across the medical and pharmaceutical sectors. In addition, it contributes to the supply of disinfectant gels used for public health and safety, while reducing dependence on products sourced from abroad.

With an €83 million investment, this facility benefits from the synergies derived from its integration with Moeve's chemical plant and energy park in Huelva, located in the heart of the Andalusian Green Hydrogen Valley.
